3 hours at Park Mill, water fast but clearing, 2 on dry 2 on nymph. Lot of debris in river

My 1st time. Loved it. Caught a tree, a bush and the back of my jacket! Many thanks to Pete who chaperoned me.

Cold wind and no rises but 2 nice fish (11 &9") both on dries - my own partridge spent mayfly thing - in abot 1.5 hours fishing

3 hours at Tremayne today, quite a few hatching and a few fish showing, 3 on BWO and a Salmon smolt on an olive nymph which gave a surprisingly good account of itself.

Couple of bits but no success today. Beautiful day for it though.

All four fish caught in 5 ‘o’ clock. Very few fish showing but a cold upstream breeze didn’t help.

Fished from 2pm for a couple of hours, nothing much showing.
Fish very skittish had some tentative takes but didn't stick.

Water very low but clear, bit of a hatch around 3pm and a few rises, but fish very fussy.

Padlock on roadside gate seems to be broken.

Cold and windy 2 hours at Coldridge this morning, no rises but a few sedge about.. significant amount of timber in the river with plenty of underwater snags - you have been warned!

Caught both fish on green gold head nymph in fast water.

No surface action. Tried dry for an hour, then switched to ghpt and took 3 in 45 mins including 2 salmon parr. Cold nw wind. V clear, low water.

Very pleasant 3 hours at Hawkridge today, some insect life (olives) and a couple of rises. Water incredibly clear for late March, but still cold.

First outing for father and I. Water was very cold but it was great to get out.

Spent pleasant 2 hours in the sunshine, both fish caught on red tag nymph (thanks Gerald) water very clear ( but cold)

Good to see clearer water at times this year, even when high

Most successful fly was an Adams. Lost 3 decent fish (one possibly a sea trout on L. Dart)

All fish caught on fluffy daddy long legs imitation. Water was quite high and fast with the weather 14C. More fish rising and noticed daddy long legs and stone fly on the water.

Water was very low and very little activity on a quiet warm morning. Saw very few fish rise all morning.

Lovely 14" fish but generally the day was very quiet indeed.

River up a few feet but clearing. Plenty of fish showing in the long calmer runs.

Fished from 5pm til dark. My son Tom caught the fish ! Lovely to get down to the river though sad not to see an otter/beaver !

Fantastic late afternoon session, water clear, a few fish rising and managed to net 8 and lost a fair few as well. Expected thunder, lighting and heavy rain instead low wind and a beautiful sunset.

Great few hours fishing from 10am now hanging up the rod till next season.

Excellent 3 hours below Coldridge bridge, river clear and vegetation starting to die back making access easier. All fish bar 2 larger ones caught in faster water.

No fish showing river up slightly but clear

Spent a couple of fruitless hours trying to tempt a fish on an Adams, just about to call it a day when connected with a decent 13" brownie, nice end to the season.

Tried nymphing as no fish showing, managed to get 3 in the faster water, but saw a large salmon in Mill pool around 7pm as I was leaving, I think it’s waiting for more water to move upstream.

Decided to have a go at klink and dink, caught 2 on the klink and 2 on the dink ( they were the larger) otherwise quiet with very low water and algae against the banks

14:30 -17:30. No activity whatsoever. River very low.

Fished just a couple of hours from 2pm no surface activity.
Only found interest in the faster water.

Fished late afternoon. Very quiet and little rising. Bank team did a good job upstream of Mill pool.

Catch included a dace of 7". 2 beavers seen. and a red deer hind crossing the river!

No surface activity but gnat sparked some interest.

Fished from 6.30-8.30pm, water very low and lots of algae, slow fishing not much surface activity. Caught decent 14 inch at little dart junction pool on muddler.

Few fish showing and river could do with a flush, water muddied after cattle crossed around 5pm. Used a number of different flys and a good olive hatch around 6pm

Fished for Sea Trout 8.30pm to midnight. No luck
Two showed as well as a grilse as dusk fell.

Hardly any fish showing and a stiff breeze blowing downstream.

Nothing much showing which seemed odd as conditions were good, fished just a couple of hours.

Not many fish showing. While between Old weir and signal box heard quite a commotion upstream. A few minutes later a family appears pushing an inflatable canoe. 30 mins later that passed me again near Rocky heading back upstream. End of session!

Fished 5:30 - 7:30. Nothing much rising, river quite low. Cows and calves in field next to the Old Mill

Fished for just a couple of hours from mid afternoon, nothing much showing, all caught on Adams.

Fished from 4-8 pm. I started a Bridge Reeve but the river is up a good couple of feet and very cloudy., no fly life, no fish showing at all.
I moved up to the second field and fished various run and pools to the weir. Much better conditions.

Fished from 2 - 4.30pm nothing much showing caught all fish on Adams with one over 14" most enjoyable.

A Daddy Long Legs created some early evening activity

River low and clearish, lots of small fish this evening, but caught one decent one and lost another. Lots of hatching but few rising.

One of the fish caught believed to be a Chubb

Midge emerger. Fished 8-10pm, only a few small fish rising. Lost 3 which is wouldn't have said were over 9" either and missed some other small fish too.

Below Coldridge Bridge after the first downstream stretch was very overgrown with access from the field very difficult.

No luck but a lovely evening.

Water very peaty coloured, some fly life but not much showing

Grey duster (midge pattern) #18. Fished from 7.30pm to 9pm. Lost one too.

Fished from 14:00 to 19:00. Lots of activity. Took 5 on Olive Drake Mayfly and the others on an Elk Hair CDC.

Fished from 3pm till 6pm, water low and clear, few fish rising not much in the way of hatch. All taken via caddis or sedge, missed loads of sub surface nudges

Fished from 4 till 8 pm, lots of hatching but not many rises, again fish tentative sub surface takes, all caught on caddis or sedge best fish a plump 14 inches with lovely markings.

Fished from 8- 10pm, lovely evening lots of hatches and some fish rising, takes very tentative and missed loads (maybe I’m losing my touch.) spent a pleasant 15 mins watching a Barn owl quartering the 1st field, lovely to see.

Fished 6 - 8 quite a cold stiff breeze blowing downstream. Very few fish showing, hardly any fly life.

Lost one and missed a couple as well. Fished 8pm until 9.15pm

Fished from 4 till 9pm, very slow to start but plenty of action from around 7.30 pm, used many different flys today no one stood out for me

Water quite coloured plenty of mayfly coming off but trout not very interested in them.
Lost a really good fish as well.

Only caught one but had quite a few hits.

Fished from 3pm till 8 pm on lower reaches below Coldridge Bridge not much in the way of mayflies but fish very active, mostly caught on olives, but larger fish on grey drake, river now at summer level and clear

Lots of fish rising. Good hatch 18:00-19:30. Bottom of river very mucky but water clear

Fished between 8-9.45pm. Lots of small fish to the net and lost A few as well. The best two fish were 12" and 13". A family of 3 otters followed.e up the pool just after the little foot bridge.
